When assembling a gift for another person, it’s all about thoughtfulness. Consider gift baskets a great way to assemble thoughtful ideas. When you know someone well enough, you have tons of little ideas that can add up to one great gift basket. If they’re a sports lover, you could assemble a signed photograph of their favorite player, a jersey of their favorite team and some tickets to the next game (where you might get a side benefit if you’re attending with them!)

Most of the gift baskets I’ve given are all about food. It’s a catch all because everyone loves some type of food. If they love seafood, you can load it up with some smoked salmon, cheese, crackers and a gift certificate to their favorite seafood restaurant.

Of course, if they love steak, you could load it up with jerky, salami, crackers, cheese… and if you like, a gift certificate to Ruth Chris or another great steak house.

Again, gift baskets are great to provide a special custom gift for people that you love. You can make it wine, cheese, gift certificates, knick-knacks, sports gear, hair products or whatever makes it special. Gift baskets are great for all budgets and all people and they are fun to assemble…. so have fun!

One of the most common ways to modernize a home or place of business is to remodel the building instead of building from scratch. Of course, this only works if there is an existing structure on the property. The other advantage of using the existing framework is that the structure is still classified by it’s original building date which means that new city code does not apply. That little fact is a catch twenty-two though. In theory, city code exists to make homes safer so be careful on which corners you decide to cut.

Now, there’s one area that you definitely don’t want to cut corners. In truth, anything that involves safety should be upgraded or brought up to code. However, any time a building is overrun with asbestos, it must be inspected and removed. The dangers of asbestos are well known and it’s simply not worth the health risk. There are plenty of companies that specialize in the removal of asbestos. Even if you live in England, it’s easy to find asbestos removal quotes.

In any case, tearing a building down to its studs may save you some money over building an entirely new structure. We just warn that you want to make sure you’re safe when remodeling. It’s simply not worth cutting corners that could result in fire or excess damage during an earthquake. We’re all for saving money but we believe in safety first!!!

If you are buying first home and are open to advice, then please do make sure to read on. I am in the process of looking for a home, and figured I would share some of the findings that my wife and I have made. As you know, I love to do things the hard way – meaning I like to do things myself. So, this was a great exercise for me to try to figure out the best way to save money during the home buying process.

You are probably thinking that I am going to tell you how to avoid using a broker. Well, I suppose that is possible, but I don’t really suggest you do that unless you really know what you are doing. I mean, you don’t want to screw up the biggest purchase of your life, do you?

Instead of skipping the broker, I have another option for you. Have you looked into the government program to try to fix the real estate market? Well, you may not buy the likelihood of success any more than I do, but that doesn’t meant that you can’t cash in.

All you have to do is be a first time home buyer and not make too much money. Then, buy your home and you literally get thousands back. Research it yourself. It’s totally worth it!

I want to pause for a moment and let us consider how much time and effort it takes to be a rodeo star. Consider how much time you take when you’re assembling a product! You want it to be right! It’s the same thing with these people competing in rodeo. They want it to be perfect and they want to perform well.

It takes a lot of time. It’s just something I try to remember when going to the rodeo. I want to make sure I appreciate what I’m watching. Consider the Houston Rodeo for example! How many entertainers do they have performing every year!!! It’s crazy how much talent they have performing at the show. It’s very easy to get distracted with the venue and the music. We just want to remind you to watch the rodeo and consider how long it takes you to paint your bathroom… and then consider that these people have worked years to perform on a big stage. Houston Rodeo Tickets are available. Just click on the link.

They do a great job of outlining the rodeo, the events, the concerts and the schedule of events. I know my kids love going to the rodeo (especially when they get to chase the greased pigs). I try to get them out, let them smell the fresh country air, get away from the TV and the video games…. it’s important to take time and get back to a nature.

We’re all about assembling the best products possible. We want to do that because we know that we can build exactly what we want for less money. Many times we work with delicate components like when we’re building computers. However, other times we’re dealing with high powered equipment as is the case when we’re working with wood.

We’re using power saws, drills, routers, sanders and nail guns. These tools are very powerful. Now, we always take safety precautions. We wear safety glasses and gloves. Again, we wear safety glasses because we want to protect our eyes. We want to protect our eyes so we can see!

When working, we know we can get tired and rushed. We simply don’t want to add poor vision to the mix and that’s why we ask everyone to do their annual checkups as well as keep their eye prescriptions up to date. We don’t want anyone cutting off their finger because they’re tires, rushed and can’t truly see everything.

We also don’t want them paying ridiculous prices! We want them to get more for less… which is why we build things!!!! Anyway, take a look at eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. I think you’ll notice that their prices are significantly lower than most retailers… which means that you’re questioning the quality. It’s OK, it’s a very valid question. Take a look at this customers review: Zenni Optical.

I’ve been building chicken coops, tree houses, compost bins, tables, sheds, laying hard wood floors, installing base boards and switching out crown molding. I can tell you that I’m ready for a little entertainment. I’ve never been to this particular rodeo but I hear it is one of the best… that is the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo.

It’s everything that a rodeo should be and has a splash of great entertainment. There’s just something about the raw action of a rodeo that I like. I spend a lot of time working with my hands and I like to watch others work while I’m entertained! Make no mistake that those rodeo pros are working when they’re riding those bulls! But the Houston Rodeo is more than just a rodeo. There’s a premium live stock show and the true icing on the cake is the live music entertainment. The show runs from March 2nd to March 21st and, if you haven’t already, you have to take a look at the line-up. They kick it off with Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley, Kenny Chesney, Mary Blige, Jason Aldean, Jonas Brothers, Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Rascal Flats and many others. It’s a great series of events.

I’m thinking about the entertainment suites this year and if you haven’t looked into tickets yet this year, maybe you should: Houston Rodeo concert tickets

This might seem a bit off the normal DIY topics that we cover on this blog, but I feel compelled to tell you about a site I cam across that sells watches. My wife has recently started running in the mornings, and I though I would be a good husband and find her a watch that she core wear for her runs as well as for casual outings. Truth be told, I was really excited when she picked up running because it gives me a little time in the morning to work on my DIY projects. Right now, I’m building a boat from plywood. Again, it sounds random, but you have to trust me. It will float!

Oh yeah, about the watch. The one I picked for here was a casio pathfinder and it met my requirements pretty easily. It was a great price, it looked good, and she can wear it running (while I am working on my diy boat!)

I try not to go too far off the do it yourself topics, because there are way more projects than I ever have time to write about. But, I figured that you might be in a similar situation that I am. You might be thinking about a nice gift for your wife. And, you might find this site useful. There is no doubt that DIY projects take time, so make sure you take care of the people in your life that facilitate your DIY habits! I know it isn’t exactly like other habit forming things in the world, but it’s hard to deny that you don’t get a little addicted to projects you can pull off on your own!

One of the most popular New Years Resolutions is “to quit smoking”. Maybe you don’t have to, per say. Most people want to quit smoking because it’s bad for you. Mainly, they are concerned about the lung cancer and the tar created in the lungs when people smoke. I came across another blog that is promoting the Electric Cigarette. Crazy?

I’m not a smoker but I have many people in my family that always want to quit smoking. They know that it smells up their clothes and homes. They also complain about the price. Well, I’m not sure the electric cigarette can save smokers any money but it seems like a much safer way to go. You still get the nicotine and, according to this guys blog, they come in many flavors. The patch is very similar. You still get the nicotine fix without the smoke.

The electric cigarette actually helps people that have the oral fixation as well which would make it seem better than the patch. Anyway, this guy, Andy Gray, has a blog that talks all about the various kinds of electric cigarette choices. Apparently, these electric cigarettes are known as e-cigs and Andy Gray is spending his free time becoming an authority on the subject. He seems like a down to earth guy with a passion for the product. You should check out his blog especially if you’re looking to quit smoking as your New Year Resolution.

Who knew that there would be all these accessories with your video game consoles these days! I remember Pacman, Frogger, and Burger Time. I remember when super mario brothers was cutting edge technology!

Now, take a second and consider video games have come full circle. It used to be that video games were a sign of inactivity and sluggish lifestyles (and yes, there’s still quite a bit of that). I have to give the Nintendo Wii a lot of credit. I LOVE Wii Fit. It’s an awesome concept. Have fun while working out! Why not? Isn’t that the whole point??? If you’re going to play video games, that’s the way to do it.

I remember being on cruise with the Navy and I made a rule with myself. I could play Halo II as long as I was riding the stationary bike. I brought a small stationary bike that fit in my stateroom and the miles I put on that thing. I’d play and ride for 2-3 hours at a time. I got in GREAT aerobic workouts because I wasn’t on a timeline, I want forced to stare at a wall and ride while I watched the seconds tick away until I could stop.

Have fun and work out. Nice job to Nintendo for coming up with Wii Fit. Perfect for a New Years resolution that will last. You’ll just have to “assemble” the accessories to the Wii and start assembling your physique!

It’s truly amazing with the assembly of networks, the ability to connect anywhere. As we move into the future, more and more things are going to be accomplished remotely. Things will be monitored via computers which will send status updates to remote location for centralized monitoring. For the most part, the technology is already there. It’s just a matter of the infrastructure catching up.

The coolest feature of the remote monitoring is the ability to upgrade and repair glitches from a far. Consider the technology used to monitor sattelites. It’s not like we send a repair man up there with 24 hour repair service!

But bringing it back to earth, many companies use remote control software to update their computers, especially for employees out in the field. I’ve been part of several companies that take advantage of remote control software and use it to take control of their computers from a remote location. It’s certainly more efficient.

With remote control software, the IT tech can take control and see the remote computer allowing them to troubleshoot through the control panel, download software and get a visual understanding of the problem. It’s much easier than trying to get a verbal over the phone.

Anyway, all of this technology is a result of assembling networks! As we always say, assembling is good!!!
